Haldimand County declares official results for 2025 Wards 1 & 4 By-election

Haldimand County held a by-election on April 10, 2025 to fill two vacant Council seats for Ward 1 and Ward 4. Chad Curtis, Haldimand County’s Municipal Clerk has certified the results of the 2025 Wards 1 & 4 By-election.

Debera McKeen was elected as Ward 1 Councillor, receiving 944 votes, accounting for 44.7% of the vote.

Brad Adams was elected as Ward 4 Councillor, receiving 1508 votes, accounting for 58.7% of the vote.

The official voter turnout for the Wards 1 & 4 By-election was 34.6%, a significant increase in voter turnout compared to 24.7% in the 2023 Ward 4 by-election.

Newly-elected councillors will be sworn in during a Declaration of Office ceremony at an upcoming Council meeting, at which time they will officially assume their Council duties. The ceremony will see them take their oaths of office for the remainder of the 2022-2026 term of Council.
