Haldimand County announces final round of consultation for development of Public Arts and Culture Strategy
In September 2024, Haldimand County initiated community consultations for the development of a Public Arts and Culture Strategy. On Thursday, January 30, 2025, the final two in-person sessions will be hosted to review and discuss outcomes of the first sessions and determine any additional considerations.
The sessions are taking place at the Cayuga Arena’s McSorley Family Hall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. No registration is required.
“We are very fortunate to live in a community that is filled with creative, diverse and talented individuals and groups who work and/or volunteer in the arts, culture and heritage sectors,” said Mayor Shelley Ann Bentley. “The vibrancy, tourism opportunities and economic benefit they provide to our communities are very much appreciated by Council and the County, and we hope having a more structured Public Arts and Culture Strategy will allow us to build even stronger working partnerships.”
Following the in-person sessions, residents, community groups and local arts organizations can also provide input into the strategy development through an online survey.
