Hydrant flushing

Our water crews undertake annual hydrant flushing as part of the routine maintenance of the County’s watermains. The program typically runs from April to June, with flushing conducted between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

During this maintenance, residents may experience a drop in water pressure or some discolouration of their water. The discolouration is only temporary and does not indicate a problem with the water system. If you notice that your water is discoloured, run a cold water faucet for 5 to 10 min to clear the water line.

Service connection or disconnection permits

If you’re looking to connect a new build to the water/wastewater system or disconnect an existing service for demolition, you’ll need to apply for a permit from the County.
