Home Flood Protection Program

Have you recently experienced flooding in your home as a result of significant rainfall events?  Are you looking for guidance on how to prevent this from happening to your home in the first place?

Haldimand County offers a Home Flood Protection Program which assists homeowners by covering 50% of the cost of a home assessment. This assessment will involve a detailed analysis of your home both inside and outside with recommendations on ways that you can lessen the chances of a loss of your valuables or damage to your home should another significant rainfall event occur. The cost to the homeowner for this inspection is $275.00 (plus tax) for an on-site inspection and $237.50 (plus tax) for a virtual inspection.

The County has engaged the services of AET Group Inc. (AET) who are experienced with home flooding mitigation measures nationwide. A link to their website is below where you can find information about their program.

AET Group Inc. Home Flood Protection

This program will be offered to residents on a first-come-first-served basis. To be eligible for this program, you must be connected to municipal services and your property taxes must be paid in full. This program will be offered on a one-time basis per homeowner and as requested by the property owner.

How to apply

If you wish to apply for this program, please complete the following application form. This form will be sent directly to AET. Once AET receives it and your eligibility is confirmed, AET will reach out to you directly to begin the process.

All information gathered in the home assessment is kept confidential and will remain between the homeowner and AET. You are under no obligation to complete any of the repairs or measures outlined in your assessment report.
