Fire Safety and Education

The Haldimand County’s Fire Department’s goal is to ensure the safety of our residents. One of the ways we do this is through education. Learn about the different resources we offer and how you can book a presentation with the Fire Department.

Schedule a fire education seminar

The Haldimand County Fire Department offers a variety of fire safety educational opportunities for our community. You can request a Fire Safety Education Speaker, Station Tour or Fire Truck Visit.

Fire station tour

The Haldimand County Fire Department provides station tours to school groups and community groups. Station tours involve a visit to the fire hall and an explanation of fire safety equipment and apparatus. Tours can be booked at any of our stations and are approximately 30 minutes. Maximum group size varies by station.

Please note the crew and apparatus are still in service and may need to respond to an emergency during your visit.

Request a fire truck visit

The Haldimand County Fire Department loves getting out into our community and interacting with residents. A truck can visit community events, charitable events, and school and community groups.

We make every effort to accommodate every request, but that may not always be possible. Firefighters are on duty, so they may need to leave the location at any time.

Fire extinguisher training

We offer fire extinguisher training through our Fire Prevention Bureau. The training shows how to safely deploy a fire extinguisher in a small emergency, before calling 911.

Please email us to learn more about this training.

Fire prevention week

In partnership with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), we participate in Fire Prevention Week each year.

This is a week in October aimed at educating people of all ages on fire safety. It’s important to take time and learn, or relearn how to stay safe in case of a fire.

To learn more about Fire Prevention Week, contact one of our Fire Prevention Officers.
