Economic Development Strategy
The Haldimand County Economic Development Strategy lays a framework for enhancing strategic priorities. The path forward outlines realistic and tangible actions to help build economic sustainability, competitiveness, and position the County for long-term success.
The Strategy is built around five themes:
- Becoming investment ready
- Ensuring Haldimand County is a great place to invest and to do business
- Creating a unique Haldimand County economic development identity
- Building stronger economic development partnerships
- Building a more unified Haldimand County
The actions outlined in the Strategy are based on economic analysis and stakeholder input and serve to create a solid foundation for Haldimand County to grow and strengthen our economy.

Tourism Strategic Action Plan
Approved in 2016, the Tourism Strategic Action Plan focuses strengthening the County’s tourism offerings and driving more visitors to the region.
The plan is formed around four key pillars:
- Tourism leadership and resourcing
- Infrastructure and support
- Product and experience development
- Marketing and communications
The Tourism Action Plan ensures tourism growth meets the needs of the community and delivers competitive products that generate repeat visitors.
