Contractor Claims
In some cases, a third-party contractor may be responsible for your claim and handled by them directly. We can provide contact details for the relevant contractor.
The County enters into contracts with private companies that perform work on our behalf. These can include services like major construction projects, road work, snow plowing and garbage removal. Through these contracts, the contractor is obligated to respond to claims.
Our role in these claims is to ensure the contractual obligations have been met. This means that the contractor must acknowledge and investigate the reported incident. Contractual obligations are not based on compensation or the outcome of the incident.
How to submit a claim
If you know the name of the contractor
- We recommend you deal directly with the contractor and contact them to begin the claims process
If you do not know the name of the contractor
- Submit using our claim form and select "Contractor Claim"
- We will forward your claim to the contractor and provide you with their contact information
- The contractor is responsible for following up on the claim with you directly
You can see projects awarded to contractors on our Bids and Tenders page.
