1. Subject

County Coat of Arms and Logo Non Corporate Usage Policy.

1. Purpose

To establish a policy to govern the Non Corporate use of the County Coat of Arms and Logo.

3. Policy

Provisions:

1) Coat of Arms – Non Corporate Use: prohibited

Use of the Corporate Coat of Arms, in whole or in part, is strictly prohibited, except for use by the Corporation of Haldimand County.

2) Coat of Arms &/or Logo - Commercial Use: prohibited

Use of the Coat of Arms and Logo is strictly prohibited for use in commercial enterprises.

3) Coat of Arms &/or Logo – Election Material: prohibited

Use of the Corporate Coat of Arms or Logo, in whole or in part, by any person for election purposes is strictly prohibited.

Allowable Areas of Use:

1) County Logo – Non Profit Use: permitted conditions

Non-profit organizations may apply to the Corporation for use of the County Logo to promote communities, community events or festivals and tourism facilities within the County, subject to the following conditions:

a) application must be made in the prescribed form
b) modification of the fundamental design of the Logo is strictly prohibited
c) a sample of the proposed use of the Logo must accompany the application
d) use of the Logo must promote Haldimand County
e) use of the Logo must be in the best interest of the County and conform to good taste

2) Submission of applications

Applications will be jointly considered by the Managers of Tourism and Economic Development or their respective General Managers.

3) Appeal Process

Should an application be denied, the applicant has the right to appeal this decision to the General Council in Committee.

4) Contravention of Use

Any contravention of this policy will be dealt with pursuant to the provisions of the Trades-marks Act.
