Short-Term Rentals
A short-term rental refers to a dwelling unit (all or part) that is used to provide sleeping accommodations for a rental period of less than 28 consecutive days in exchange for payment (e.g. Airbnb, VRBO, RentbyOwner, etc.).
Currently, there is no licensing requirement for short-term rentals in Haldimand County. However, property owners should be aware of Haldimand County by-laws and Provincial Acts that may affect the short-term rental of their property.
Common regulations to be aware of include:
- Noise
- Property standards and clean yards
- Open-air burning
- Parking rules
- Ontario Building Code
- Ontario Fire Code
