Cayuga Displays, formerly known as Cayuga Cabinets, has established itself in the display industry, and is renowned for delivering top-quality products. Founded in 1980 by John Vanreenen who was a local homebuilder, the company expanded into displays when approached by the local Cayuga IGA, now known as Foodland,  to create tables for showcasing produce. This concept was spread across Ontario with the support of the wholesale group (Oshawa Foods) servicing the IGA’s. Recognizing the potential, Cayuga Displays was born shifting the business focus to supermarket displays.

In the early 2000s, Rick Schotsman assumed the role of President, joined later by Chris and Eric Schotsman as Vice Presidents. Their diverse backgrounds in retail, woodworking, automotive business, and business development proved instrumental in navigating the complexities of the display market. As a smaller business, Cayuga Displays thrives on agility and innovation, specializing in challenging projects like refrigeration units and hot food displays, distinguishing itself from larger competitors by offering differentiated solutions. Through diligence and persistence, they have been successful, focusing on the right opportunities, learning from mistakes, and gathering a dedicated team.

The company’s core focus lies in manufacturing supermarket display equipment, including refrigerated displays, salad bars, hot food bars plus display tables, shelves, and racks for bakery, produce, floral and other store departments. They prioritize their retail customer’s desire to create a unique shopping experience by offering standard designs that can easily be customized. Beyond product excellence, Cayuga Displays stands out for its customer-centric approach, offering responsive support and fostering community connections. They hope to help everyone succeed, even if that means directing a client to another, better-suited solution from another company.

The company has integrated deeply into the local community, benefiting from the region’s strong agricultural heritage and skilled workforce. Employees take pride in their work, enjoying a sense of ownership and contributing to Cayuga Displays’ commitment to community development. Through initiatives like donations to local sports teams and food banks, the company actively gives back to the community that has supported its growth.

Over the years, Cayuga Displays has achieved remarkable growth, nearly doubling its sales and expanding its client base across Canada and the United States. Investment in facilities has facilitated operational improvements, supporting their ambition to sustain growth and enhance customer satisfaction. Looking ahead, Cayuga Displays aims to further expand its market reach while continuing to invest in its people and community, driven by a commitment to excellence and innovation in the display industry.
